Disneyland at Christmas Time

If you know me, you know that two of the things that I love most in this world are Christmas time and Disneyland (in fact, I believe it even says that on the "about me" section on the right side of our blog).
So you can only imagine the excitement I get when you combine those two favorites...
and go to Disneyland AT Christmas time.
WOWZA.
There's truly nothing more magical.
This trip with Chase's family was such a fun way to start off December and ring in the holiday season.
I want to go back... like right now. Looking at these pictures makes me sad.
But I hope you enjoy them!...

Round 2 next week?...
Who's with me?!

Jesse's Back!

Can you believe it?!
It's him, it's really him!

From the looks of this picture it may seem like Mason was a little upset Jesse was back...
but really it was because I stole him away from grandpa for this picture.
That, and the fact that it was 11pm probably added to his irritability.

We're pretty excited to have our Jess Buns back. It just wasn't the same without him.
You would think that with such a big family it wouldn't be that big of a deal when one person was missing... but it is.
Every single one of Chase's siblings is so different and bring their own dynamic to the family, so when one of them is missing (even if it's just for one Sunday dinner), you can tell. It's just not the same.
I can only imagine what it was like when Chase was gone on his mission... super quiet maybe? A little too peaceful and normal.
Any who, we're glad you're back from Spain, Jesse!
Are you sure you want to leave us for BYU Hawaii?
I mean, really... us or the beach? It should be a pretty easy choice ;-).

Mason's First Haircut!

I think we officially put off Mason's first haircut for as long as possible.
We knew he wouldn't sit still or do well, so we tried to avoid it as long as we could.
A mullet started to form awhile back though, and the next thing you know, he was ponytail worthy.
And well, he still occasionally gets asked if he's a boy or a girl (I think it's those pretty lashes and cheekbones), so a ponytail wasn't really helping the cause.
We decided that after Halloween (since he was being a pirate we wanted to have the ponytail for that), that we would finally take the plunge cut it.

Here's a pic of before:

And after:

He's still cute as a button.

Halloween Festivities

We started our Halloween festivities early this year,
by having a "Halloween Day" with Aunt Sammie a couple of weeks ago,
and making yummy Halloween cookies, cupcakes, and watching Hocus Pocus.

We searched for the perfect pumpkin at a local pumpkin patch.
Mason just preferred the pick them up and throw them though...

We went to the Hamilton's Annual Pumpkin Carving Party,
which just seems to get bigger and better every year!

They even had a bounce house this year!

We carved an Elmo pumpkin... and by we, I mean Chase.

He's pretty dang talented huh?!

We started off Halloween day with some orange pancakes with Halloween sprinkles for breakfast.

Then our little pirate dressed up in his costume and we had some Halloween fun!

One of the three tattoos on him...

And we ended the day with some yummy hot cider and homemade caramel apples, courtesy of Chase's mom. Because what is Halloween without cider and caramel apples?!

Happy Halloween!
